Action 1: Short-Term Rental (STR) Regulations

This action focuses on developing and adopting regulations that effectively limit the number of short-term rentals (STRs) in the municipality and promote increases in the number houses being placed in the long-term rental market as well as for purchase.
1. Does the regulation limit short-term rentals to owner-occupied units?
2. OR does the regulation place a limit on the number of STR units permitted in the municipality to 2% or less of all housing units in the community?
3. Does the regulation require STR operators to register the STR unit through a municipal registry process?
4. Does the regulation require STR operators to pay a fee to cover the cost of administration of the STR registration program? NOTE: This criteria is recommended but not required.
5. Does the regulation require that STR units are inspected for safety? NOTE: This criteria is recommended but not required.
